WHAT WE BUILD
Trust & Decision Ready
Proof Systems
The deal can be won in the room
and still die in the institution.
A chief executive can believe you.
The commercial sponsor can want the deal.
The investor can understand the opportunity.
The chair can support the strategic logic.
Major decisions do not survive on persuasion alone. They survive when conviction,
evidence, authority, transferability and assurance are built into the proposition so
that confidence can move from one person to the institution.
E. Cartier & Co helps organisations design the proof architecture that allows
decisions, transactions, mandates, restructurings, partnerships and strategic
moves to survive scrutiny, transfer, challenge, committees, governance, legal
review and changing stakeholders.

Conviction
Does the proposition create
enough confidence for a
serious decision to begin
moving?
Evidence
Can the important claims
survive informed scrutiny
when the originating
executive is no longer there?
Authority
Do the people who believe
the proposition actually
possess the authority
required to move
the decision?
Transfer
Can confidence survive
procurement, finance, risk,
legal, regulatory or
investment committee
review?
Assurance
Can the decision be
defended if assumptions fail,
conditions change, or
outcomes are challenged?
Why good opportunities stall
Organisations often confuse enthusiasm, sponsor alignment or presentation quality with institutional readiness. A strong proposal can still fracture when it must travel, be challenged and be approved by people who were not in the original room.
Committees ask better questions than individual executives. Functions apply different filters. Incentives vary. Governance adds necessary friction. Without a deliberate proof system, momentum drains and decisions drift.
Momentum usually breaks where evidence is ambiguous, decision ownership is fragmented, stakeholder transfer is poor, committee materials are weak, downside logic is untested and there is no decision narrative capable of surviving distance from the original conversation.
In consequential decisions, proof is not supporting material.
It is the mechanism by which confidence survives transfer.

Decision Narrative
Architecture
We craft the core story,
decision logic and value
case that hold together
under challenge.

Evidence Chain
Design
We design the sequence
of claims, proofs and
tests that make the case
credible and auditable.
![[3]c_edited.png](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/298155_a74c62f971f5482081005f4e1a4fcdae~mv2.png/v1/fill/w_80,h_87,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_avif,quality_auto/%5B3%5Dc_edited.png)
Stakeholder
Transfer Routes
We map how confidence
travels across functions,
committees and levels
of authority.
Where this capability matters

Committee and
Board Materials
We build materials that
inform, persuade and
withstand scrutiny in
decision forums.

Assurance and
Objection Handling
We stress test the case,
address objections and
prepare responses that
stand up to challenge.

Authority and
Escalation Mapping
We clarify decision rights,
escalation points and
contingencies for a clear
path to approval.
Deals with multiple moving parts
that require alignment across
executives, functions, boards
and external parties.
Complex transactions
and strategic partnerships
Growth moves requiring
investment or board support
When capital, capacity or market
moves depend on a decision that
must be approved, not just agreed
in principle.
Multi stakeholder restructurings
or transformational programmes
Change initiatives where success
depends on institutional buy in,
sequence, communication and
credible governance.
Sensitive decisions where
confidence is tightly linked
Situations where reputation,
regulatory scrutiny, political context
or governance risk heightens the
need for decision ready proof.
An Engagement
From enthusiasm to decision readiness
Outcome
A founder led company persuing a high value strategic partnership and growth
financing had strong internal belief and investor interest, but the decision stalled
in committee.
E. Cartier & Co redesigned the decision narrative, sequenced the evidence,
mapped the stakeholder proof path, built committee materials and constructed
an objection handling structure.
Key stakeholder confidence aligned
Approval path shortened by 40%
Investor concerns preempted and resolved
The competitor does not always need to be better.
Sometimes it only needs to be easier to approve.
Transaction moved from enthusiasm to decision readiness
Decision quality and governance improved
TOPIC
SITUATION
Strategic partnership
and growth financing.
Strong interest, weak institutional
transfer and committee resistance.
WORK COMPLETED
Narrative redesign, evidence sequencing, stakeholder mapping, committee materials, objection handling and rehearsal.
OUTCOME
Decision approved with stronger governance and fewer unresolved conditions.
What a board or investment committee should be able to answer
1
What exactly are
we being asked to
believe?
2
which claims matter
most to the decision
and how are they
evidenced?
3
Who must own the
decision at each
stage?
4
What survives when
the originating
sponsor leaves the
room?
5
Where will the proposition meet
resistance first?
6
Can the decision still
be defended if
conditions changed?
How we work
1
2
3
Diagnose the
decision path
We interview key stakeholders,
map the decision structure,
identify risks to approval and
test the current case for
weak points.
Build the
proof system
We design the narrative,
evidence chain, stakeholder
routes and materials that
create clarity, conviction and
institutional durability.
Prepare the institution
to decide
We equip leaders and teams
for committee scrutiny,
rehearse tough questions and
refine materials until the case
is decision ready.
